Required: To enroll in this refresher course, you should have completed at least 6 hours of a foundational Botox course. This refresher course only covers theory and anatomy and does not include a hands-on treatment component. This is not a certification course.

This program will focus on best results for single tooth implant restorations. Techniques for customized tissue platform, temporization, and impressions – along with workflows for restorations using patient-specific abutments will be presented with a goal of bringing simplicity and reliability to the restorative process. 

Using advanced computer technology, patient-specific abutments are available for all major implant systems and are designed and manufactured to the clinician’s specifications. The benefits of providing an anatomically correct abutment earlier in the healing cycle will also be discussed. In addition, screw-retained innovations are changing the way we approach dental implant therapy. Unique advancements in screw retained restorations that provide enhanced efficiency to your existing workflow will be reviewed.

Take your practice to a higher level integrating new laser technology. This lecture and hands-on workshop is for the dentist/dental hygienist and covers various laser applications. This program covers general applications including cavity preparations, various soft tissue procedures, endodontic preparation, and bony procedures such as crown lengthening and tori reduction. In addition, laser dental hygiene applications will be discussed as well. The hands-on segment features lasers using pig jaws and teeth for both soft tissue and hard tissue applications including cavity preparation, soft tissue ablation, bone ablation, and all hygiene procedures

Course Description: We will be discussing a proactive and preventative approach to joint health and posture for the dental professional.  This will include both lecture topics and exercise/stretching demonstrations that can be applied to help prevent injury and improve work ergonomics and posture.

This course will discuss the early diagnosis of tooth demineralization and intervention with sodium fluoride, stannous fluoride and monofluorophosphate toothpastes, fluoride (including professionally applied topical fluorides, fluoride varnish and silver diamine fluoride), glass ionomer surface protectants, sealants and minimally invasive products and procedures (including CPP-ACP paste, xylitol, povidone iodine, and chlorhexidine). Risk assessment utilization in decision-making for restorative care will be discussed and related to recommendations made by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for restorative dentistry care in children and Evidence-Based Clinical Recommendations of the American Dental Association.

Numerous advancements in treatment modalities for periodontal, regenerative and implant therapies have all had a significant impact on Comprehensive Care Dentistry. This interactive presentation will provide a clinical and evidence-based review of the various innovations in hard and soft tissue regeneration, Perio Plastic Surgical procedures, implant site development and implant therapies. The role of biomimetic agents, such as Enamel Matrix Derivative, Leukocyte-Platelet Rich Fibrin and Platelet Derived Growth Factors, in tissue engineering will be explored.  A myriad of case presentations and treatment modalities for tooth preservation to tooth replacement will be highlighted. Because of the current popularity of forensic faire in television, the general public is getting a skewed view of the true nature of forensic investigation. This issue is commonly known as the “CSI effect”. In this seminar, Dr. Cardoza will dispel this myth as it relates to forensic odontology. Topics will include forensic dental identification of decedents of varying postmortem states including: skeletal, fragmented, decomposed, burned remains and pattern injuries as they relate to bite mark investigation not only in human bites but animal bites as well.

It is incumbent that dental offices are aware of trends in the dental benefits industry and how these trends may affect a typical dental practice. Participants will hear about major trends in the national dental benefits marketplace.  

Topics to be discussed include trends on enrollment, premiums, network participation, annual maximums and more. You will hear about some of the most significant legislative developments both in Congress and at the state level. In addition, you will hear of recent ADA advocacy efforts and learn where to find valuable dental insurance resources and assistance.
